John Terris
Coach John is a *Prevot de Foil & Épée with the United States Fencing Coaches Association, Academie Arms International, and is a Certified Level 2 Épée coach through the USFA Coaches College in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He has competed in Regional and National events, and is currently studying to earn his Maitre d’Armes certification as a Fencing Master, which is the highest level of certification for coaches. He is well qualified to teach all three fencing weapons.
*The Prévôt level is similar to the Master level professional fencing coach with more emphasis on training fencers rather than other coaches. The Prévôt has proficiency with a variety of teaching methods so that they can train fencers of all levels to compete. They may also train fencers to become Assistants or Moniteurs. Prévôt candidates must pass a thorough test comprised of oral, written, and practical parts.
